Are you a Distribute IT customer (Registered a domain with us before the 5th June 2011)? You might have been affected by the outages of Distribute IT's website and registry between Saturday 4th, June 2011 to the 23rd June 2011.
Issues were experienced with domain registration, re-delegation and renewals over the period of 2 weeks. No customer data has been compromised and no data pertaining to the domain names has been lost, however as a security precaution, all EPP codes/authorization passwords for domains have been reset.
Ausweb was a Distribute IT domains reseller between 2009-11. Our deepest condolences go to the Distribute IT team and all others affected by the unethical and malicious incident executed upon them. We are keeping updated upon a regular basis as to what is going on, in order to guarantee you as a customer, an uninterrupted service.
At present the system has been stabilized and is now under management by the Netregistry Group, who acquired Distribute IT on the 23rd of June. Ausweb is still the service provider for said domains and your customer experience will not be affected.
Below, you will find some important information from the auDA website pertaining the attack and how this may affect you:

Information about Distribute IT Pty Ltd
auDA is aware of recent security incidents affecting the operations of accredited registrar Distribute IT.
In accordance with their obligations under the Registrar Agreement, the management of Distribute IT notified auDA of the security incidents as soon as they were aware of them, and they have since provided regular updates to auDA on their recovery efforts.
Distribute IT has advised auDA that its hosting services were the target of the attack, and not its domain name services. Distribute IT has also advised auDA that it does not store any credit card data in its databases or logs, and so there has been no compromise to customers' financial data. auDA can also confirm that .au registrydata has not been compromised as a result of the security attacks on Distribute IT.
Up until last week, Distribute IT was continuing to action domain name renewal and update requests. Distribute IT management have today advised auDA that they are currently unable to provide these services. auDA has therefore activated its registrar contingency plan, to ensure that affected registrants are able to transfer to a new registrar and make alternative hosting arrangements as soon as possible.
